About me

I am currently employed by the drama department at Hutcheson's Grammer School in Glasgow as Wardrobe Manager. I am fully responsible for all aspects of the department.

I continue to work on a more casual basis at the Theatre Royal and Kings Theatre in Glasgow as a freelance dresser.

Additional Courses / Training

Completed first year of HND in Stitched Textiles and fashion.

Completed relevent course in millinery.

Along side my Theatre work I have worked in alterations and was Head Seamstress for a Bridal Shop in Glasgow.

Additional Skills

High level of pattern cutting and pattern grading.

Very high dressmaking and costume making skills, with over 10 years making and soft furnishing experience, both on domestic and industrial machines.

Neat hand sewing skills, hand tailoring and embroidery skills.

Screen-printing experience.

Textile manipulation skills.

Computer literate with photoshop and gerber experience.

Extensive dressing experience with ballet, opera, musicals and drama, dealing with principle artists on a regular basis. Experience in dressing children.

Technical Equipment

Sewing machine and overlocker plus extensive range of sewing equipment, pattern drafting and cutting equipment.

Industry Awards

Bronze medallist in Skills Challenge UK 2005.

Winner in European event Club Fashion, 2005.

Craftex runner-up 2005 and 2004.
